The Team:
Kiva Engineering is a rapidly growing team of eleven motivated engineers. We operate as a "start-up" in that everybody counts, and your contribution has the potential to make a big impact: on Kiva, and the world at large. We follow a Scrum development process, with 20% of time allocated for engineering innovation.
The Job:
* Ensure that Kiva maintains the highest possible standard of data integrity
* Design and build sophisticated online reports to provide visibility into our financial data
* Maintain and extend a comprehensive suite of tests designed to ensure consistency across our financial data set
Own and enhance Kiva's monthly Field Partner invoicing process
You:
* Are a perfectionist.
* Have an innate and extreme attention to detail. You understand why a user balance that's off by a single penny is a serious concern.
* Are driven by your curiosity to explore what problems or insights our data might unlock
Required Experience:
* Expert level SQL skills
* At least 3 years of solid experience building the server-side of online web applications (LAMP, RoR or J2EE)
* Experience processing and managing data from an online payment process (extra points for specific and deep experience with PayPal)
* Experience working on a large-scale data reconciliation project
Nice To Have Experience:
* A background in finance or accounting
* Experience dealing with international currencies, and conversions
* Experience writing or maintaining comprehensive sets of unit tests
* Experience analyzing large volumes of data
